This is the most significant advantage of the low-voltage system. It has significantly reduced the risk of electric arcs and electric shock. Even if unexpected short circuits or contacts occur during installation and maintenance, the direct risks to personnel and the environment are far lower than those of high-voltage systems, making it the preferred choice for residences, indoors, or densely populated areas.
As the voltage is within the safe range, the threshold for its installation, commissioning and daily maintenance has been greatly reduced. Usually, a professional high-voltage electrician's license is not required. Ordinary technicians can operate after simple training, which reduces installation costs and complexity, and is very beneficial for the DIY market and rapid deployment.
The low-voltage platform is the most mainstream and mature configuration for inverters and solar controllers in the market, with extremely wide compatibility. Users have almost no restrictions when choosing inverters and can easily plug and play with the vast majority of low-voltage hybrid inverters or off-grid inverters on the market without worrying about compatibility issues.
Low-voltage stacking systems typically have each module as an independent, low-voltage unit (such as 51.2V). When a module malfunctions, its impact on the entire system is relatively small and will not cause the entire high-voltage bus to go down. Faulty modules can be replaced offline, while other modules usually continue to work, which enhances the reliability and fault tolerance of the system.
Although high-voltage systems also support expansion, the expansion of low-voltage systems is more "foolproof". When users add or remove modules, they do not need to pay special attention to issues such as electrical isolation and insulation detection that are necessary for high-voltage systems. The expansion operation is simpler and more intuitive.
